Senior Software Developer Team Lead
I have done a wide variety of work at my time at TTI.I have lead the generation of C++ source code from our Matlab/Simulink models for the integration into a customer's in-house framework. This involved developing the process of automatically generating the code as well as providing a month of on-site training to the customer so they may perform the process on their own in the future. This also involve the development of testing frameworks to ensure and demonstrate to the customer the code performed the same in Matlab as it did in C++.I have played a key role in the design and refactoring of many large parts of the simulation system. This ranged from making prototype designs as well as investigating technologies to aide in meeting the requirements set out for the future product's design. I have also lead in converted portions of our Simulink algorithms into C++ to aid in its performance and portability.I am also currently leading the team developing the next generation of user interface for our main product. The interface is being built using web technologies (html, css,Js) along with a C++ backend for communication with MATLAB.
Mid Software Developer
My software work at MPC focuses primarily on the support and development of the software related to visual effects. I work extensively on the maintenance and extension of MPC's award winning destruction simulation software Kali, and helped to significantly decrease simulation times through several key optimizations.I also spend significant amounts of time debugging and developing tools for use in Maya, Flowline and many other in-house visual effect toolsets. This work involves mainly the use of C++, Python, and occasionally Lua, Mel, and KL.
Graduate Teaching Assistant
I was a teaching assistant for Introduction/Advanced Computer Programming and Interactive Multimedia & Design courses. My responsibilities included: • Helping students in weekly tutorials and office hours by explaining the concepts of the class to them, in order to reinforce their understanding of the material, and helping them to improve their performance.• Grading student work within a designated time frame, allowing the professor to modify lectures to better reflect concepts students struggled with
Summer Research Assistant
During the summer months of my undergraduate degree I worked in the University of New Brunswick's Physics Department. Here in the Atmospheric and Space Lab. I worked on several different instruments designed to measure winds in the upper atmosphere. My responsibilities included.• Designing and developing new research equipment to optically measure atmospheric winds• Testing and calibrating equipment using Matlab, optical lenses and infrared cameras• Resolving a prior design oversight/error in the positioning and focal length of a lens pair that had been causing reduced accuracies.• Writing and editing results for publication in international journals and conferences.
