My essential duties and responsibilities include the following:-Provide a full range of customer service for patrons and staff including responding to routine and moderately complex patron concerns regarding library policies and procedures.-Supervise both regular and casual bookshelvers/processors.-Interview, hire, train, and schedule our staff of bookshelvers/processors.-On-site supervision for circulation clerks, library technicians, and public library associates.-Plan, assign, and direct work ensuring equitable work distribution within job categories.-Approve time records; authorize overtime and leave requests for bookshelvers/processors within departmental budgets.-Appraise performance, reward and discipline bookshlever/processor staff when appropriate.-Contribute to performance evaluations for circulation clerks, library technicians, and public library associates who have worked on-site.-Provide oversight of the day-to-day operations of the building and grounds and report needs for maintenance, repair, and service.-Assist with the coordination and implementation of new or modified policies, procedures, services and operations.-Write procedures as assigned for areas of responsibility.-Assist with the revision and implementation of work methods.-Provide oversight of circulation functions for Washtenaw Library for the Blind and Physically Disabled and Michigan eLibrary services.-Supervise the collection of departmental statistics and run reports related to various department and customer service functions.-Oversee sales and fine collection including cash balancing and bank deposits.-Monitor and order supplies.
