Responsible for the preparation/closing of the health lodge operations (developed procedures for maintaining inventory, verifying expiration dates on supplies, established a process and frequency of inspections on certain equipment (medical refrigeration, AEDs, first aid kits) and created documents for these inspections. Assist in the training of camp staff (CPR, First Aid, Bloodborne Pathogens, safety/accident prevention, especially after incidents). In charge of the administration of BSA Health Records for camp staff and campers (during resident camp event in July was around 1,200 records) which included medical screening for any possible issues (Allergies(EPI pen), bloodborne pathogen issues, epilepsy, medications, etc.) to assure staff were aware of possible issues while maintaining anonymity of the campers/staff. Responsible for the treatment of illnesses and injuries during camp, up to and including transport to medical facilities and properly recording the events, including completing root cause analysis paperwork to be turned into BSA’s National Health and Safety Committee.

As the Environmental Management System (EMS) Program Coordinator, responsible for developing and maintaining program documents and providing guidance to manage the EMS in accordance to the ISO14001:2004 standard. Also responsible for monitoring performance relative to The Port of Houston’s environmental goals and objectives and reporting this progress to senior management. Work with environmental program coordinators to review environmental regulatory requirements to ensure they are included within environmental aspects and impacts analysis, and facilitate top management review of the EMS. In support of the EMS efforts also responsible for the management of the Port’s EMIS (environmental management information software). Development and Implementation of environmental training programs throughout the Port Authority.

Responsible for the day-to-day operations of a 70 employee environmental laboratory facility. Monitored key laboratory performance indicators for maximum productivity and cost controls to ensure achievement of operating and financial goals. Assisted the Laboratory Director in establishing annual budgets, and completed all internal paperwork for capital expenditures. Reviewed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Quality Assurance Plans/Laboratory Quality Manuals for technical issues and completeness in conjunction with Corporate QA/EHS programs. At times was responsible for OSHA 300 and Riddor report submittal. Intimately involved with accident investigations and root cause/corrective actions implementation. Involved in client/regulatory audits and assisted QA/EHS as needed. Responsible for maintaining paperwork for hazardous waste shipments, completing the TCEQ Annual Waste Summary, and the development and maintenance of a Pollution Prevention Plan, as specified by the State. Assisted the Marketing and Project Management teams as a technical liaison between the customer and the laboratory and gave numerous presentations on a variety of topics related to laboratory operations.

Responsible for the quality assurance and safety program of a 70 employee full service environmental laboratory. Maintained all quality and safety records as required by corporate QA/EHS programs. Responsible for coordinating all client and regulatory audits from various states, A2LA, EPA, and Department of Defense. Assisted the Marketing and Project Management teams and gave presentations on a variety of topics related to the quality program.
