Level Designer
Live product re-designWhile working at King, we spent a lot of time analyzing date to improve the player experience. We wanted to understand the deeper psychology behind getting people to convert from non-payer to payer. This required a lot of in-game communication with the user.System designs, MobileDesigned systems around player attention and what it would require to get a players attention. (Onboarding)Also designed both PVP systems and cooperative game modes for alreadyWas build in inhouse editors and Unity3D
Level Designer
Level design:Designed levels from concept to release. I started by using modular blocks in levels to establish a good feeling of play space and communication of flow through the level. The pipeline I used was Level requirement -> blockmesh -> Playtest, then repeat the last two steps until the experience was solid. When designing a Hitman level I used the target as a landmark unit, this way I could get the player deeper and deeper into the layered levels I build the levels aroundAdvanced visual scriptingI worked with a node based system written for the G2 editor, I did all setups in the editor and I were able to write custom scripts inside it as well.Advanced AI systemsI worked on a system for the AI to get a solid reaction system to Agent 47 actions and to make sure the AI had an escalation cycle, this was important for the player so that they would be punished for making mistakes on the levels.Stealth designWhen designing a Hitman level I spend a lot of time working on how the AI would react to the players. The very unique thing in Hitman is the disguise system and how the different classes react to the disguises. I wanted to make sure the player would get a thrill of walking around the level without being certain of who would spot him.Encounter designsWorked on boss fights in Hitman Absolution and designed the different ways of assassinating the target.
Software Qa Tester
Performance optimizationI focused a lot on the performance of the game and continuously kept the team up to date on all issues which would present itself with iterations of the gameDesigning tools for the editor, focus on the design teamI spent most of my time on the design team designing tools for the designers to use while building the game, listening to the needs of the team and then designing them for the coders to make. This gave me great insights into the work of being a designer
