About Dennis Cabato

Currently serves as Chief of the Partnerships and Program Development Division of the National Reintegration Center for OFWs (NRCO) at the Department of Migrant Workers.Previously, Mr. Cabato was Chief of the Program Monitoring and Coordination Division and was Officer-in-Charge (OIC) of the Policy and Program Development Division of NRCO during which time, he helped shape the agenda of the NRCO as an attached office of the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA). As Chief of the Program Monitoring and Coordination Division, he managed the implementation of NRCO’s core programs; and as OIC for policy and program development, he oversaw the design of NRCO’s policy and program guidelines, including the successful implementation of NRCO’s Business Plan Competition Program in 2016. Mr. Cabato began his career in public service at the Institute for Labor Studies (ILS), the policy arm of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) in 1998. After serving as a labor and employment policy analyst for 15 years, he was designated as technical staff at the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) in Tokyo, Japan in 2009. In this role, he served as interlocutor between the DOLE Task Force on JPEPA Nurses and Caregivers and its Japanese counterparts. He also was part of the POLO operations during the Tohoku tsunami and earthquake disaster of 2011. Born in Pasig, Rizal, in 1972, Mr. Cabato holds a Master’s degree in Economics from the Asian Social Institute and was a Monbusho scholar of the Japanese government which earned him a Master of Arts degree in Policy Studies at the Yamagata University Graduate School of Social and Cultural Systems. Mr. Cabato is an alumnus of De La Salle University in Manila, Philippines.
