In 1988, I founded WeDriveU, a company that today provides B2B commuter shuttles. We help employees commute, boost productivity while they commute, and reduce parking demand on corporate and university campuses. As Executive Chairman, my focus was advising the company’s strategy and growth operating the Transit and Shuttle divisions of National Express North America.I appreciate feedback I regularly get about WeDriveU’s story of perseverance inspiring the next generation of entrepreneurs and innovators. Key elements I attribute to succeeding as an entrepreneur include grabbing opportunities, taking risks, making tough decisions and sticking with it. Three decades ago, my vision was to improve mobility by offering professional drivers to those who needed them. I pivoted the company three times to realize that vision. In the first pivot, we offered chauffeurs to drive you in your car. The second pivot launched a service with Avis that offered professional drivers to drive you in your Avis car. The third pivot introduced employee commute shuttles (aka “Tech Shuttles” with Google, our valued first customer). I enjoy passing along my success tips to the next generation and am thrilled to see WeDriveU continue on its remarkable growth trajectory under Mobico Group (previously National Express Group), a global transportation leader based in the UK.
