QA Engineer assigned to the Sludge Treatment Project working on the Engineered Container Retrieval and Transfer System (ECRTS), skid mounted system for moving radioactive sludge from the bottom of the K Basin into containers for long-term disposal.

Bechtel in partnership with the Saudi Arabian government is building the world's largest aluminum smelter plant. It is a $ 4.8 billion project.Provide overarching Quality Assurance Program support across the project. Performed assessments, provieded mentoring and coaching to peers regarding implementation of the quality program, managed the corrective action system, interfaced with company, subcontractor, and client customers, represented the company during reviews and assessments. Managed the project Risk Program, open and closed risks after mitigation was acheived and verified.Project was awarded Bechtel Project Excellence Award and Project Management Award.

Responsible for scheduling, planning, performance, and reporting of internal assessments (audits and surveillances) for the Waste Treatment Plant (WTP)

Responsible for implementation and maintenance of quality assurance activities on Department of Energy (DOE) projects; Duties included:• Developing, implementing, and maintaining the DMJM H&N NQA-1 2000 Quality Assurance Program documents and implementing procedures. This program implements the requirements of 10 CFR 830.120 and DOE O 414.1.• Reviewing specifications, drawings, and deliverables to ensure that high standards of quality are achieved.• Providing interpretation and guidance to project designers and other technical team members for applicable codes, standards, and other applicable quality assurance requirements.• Providing technical assistance and oversight to engineering, procurement, project controls, project management and other team members, including subcontractors.• Communicating with clients and subcontractors on quality issues.• Supervising the work of field offices in Richland, WA; Los Alamos, NM; Albuquerque, NM; and Las Vegas, NV through mentoring and guidance.• Providing training and qualification/certification for Auditors, Lead Auditors and Quality Representatives.• Performing and supervising performance of audits, surveillances, assessments (internal and external), and supplier evaluations.• Documenting, resolving, and analyzing corrective actions to ensure continuous improvement of quality-affecting activities.• Initiating stop work in accordance with quality procedures.

Responsible for the implementation of a NQA-1 quality program in support of assigned projects,Duties include:• Reviewing specifications, drawings, and deliverables to ensure that high standards of quality are achieved.• Providing interpretation and guidance to project designers and other technical team members for applicable codes, standards, and other applicable quality assurance requirements.• Prepares and/or revises the company quality system standard, project/division quality assurance plans, program manuals and procedures.• Provides technical and administrative direction related to company quality policy, quality assurance manuals and other quality affecting procedures.• Performs formal and documented audits/reviews/surveillances, prepared and issued to responsible division, project and quality assurance management.• Providing technical assistance and oversight to engineering, procurement, project controls, project management and other team members, including subcontractors.• Performing audits and surveillances of project work processes.
