Controls Engineer I
Controls Engineer IProvides engineering support to maintain and update the plant PLC control system. The control system consist of 32 PLC3’s, 46 PLC5’s, a ControlLogix PLC, 2 S7-400 PLC’s and 30 PC’s. Duties include maintaining the plant within local and federal regulations and design configuration parameters. Duties also include reviewing technical data packages for plant equipment configurations and identifying potential areas for design improvement. Due to my knowledge of the control system, I have been designated as a “Subject Matter Expert” for the Control System. I work directly with the Maintenance, Environmental, Quality, Safety and Operations Departments on implementation of all major modifications to ensure that procedures are followed, designs implemented and that proper inspections and tests are performed before projects are considered completed and ready for operation. I act as a senior resource to other Con Engineers, providing training and insight to other Con Engineers as a result of my extensive knowledge and experience with the existing Control System. As the back-up Supervisor I perform the duties of the Controls Engineer Supervisor in his absence. Providing supervisory direction and accountablity for the Controls Engineering activities relating to the plants Control System including assigning, scheduling and quality of services when acting as the Controls Engineering Supervisor.Electrical System Start-up EngineerI was responsibly for the start-up and systemization of the electrical power distribution system. This included a substation with two 7 MVA transformers, the 4160V primary and 480V secondary power distribution systems, two 225 KVA UPS systems, and two 1700 KW emergency generator systems.
