At Trans Hex Operations, I apply my passion for data and earth processes to offshore diamond exploration and sub-sea mining. As an Offshore Diamonds Geological Data Scientist, I am involved in creating dynamic PowerBI dashboards that effectively visualise crucial performance indicators, facilitating proactive instrument maintenance and production decisions. I influence mine plans to assess the economic viability of resource areas and implementation of best mining practices. In addition, I collaborate with other departments to implement highly effective data streaming pipelines using SQL and cloud technologies to extract tags from a PLC.I have a Bachelor of Science Honours in Geology from Rhodes University, where I achieved distinction and academic excellence. I also hold an IBM Professional Certificate in Data Science, which I use to enhance my current role. I have developed macros to analyse samples, and used Python and predictive modelling to site over sampling sites. My core competencies include ArcGIS, Global Mapper, 3D modelling, Python, SQL, machine learning, Sci-kit Learn, Pandas, and PowerBI. I am always looking to grow my personal and professional network, and to learn new skills and technologies.
