Joined in September of 1967. Attended New Orleans Police Department Academy and graduated in January 1968. Attended L.S.U. Law enforcement Institute in 1970. Was promoted to the rank of Sergeant, through a written exam and oral interview process. I stayed until 1975 when I resigned. I then worked for the Westwego police Department and the Gretna Police Department until 1980 when I returned to J.P.S.O. I was assigned as the commander of the Electric Avenue task force, by Sheriff Harry Lee and then founded and named that unit The Street Crimes Unit with the permission of Sheriff Lee. I then move up the rank structure to, Lieutenant, Captain, Major and Colonel. I retired in January of 2005. In 1974 I became a defensive tactics instructor and did that part time. In 2006 I returned, part time to J.P.S.O. teaching at the academy four days a week.
