    Designing and implementing software for a distributed vehicle mounted control system. Utilizing J1939 CAN for this system. It performs current control on multiple DC actuator motors through a range of selectable amperage values. lt also has 433 Mhz wireless, or Bluetooth user control available. This is using a Microchip PIC processor.Diagnostic tool for use in a factory for accessing wireless key fob information to use in mating receivers and transmitters on newly built equipment.This uses a Microchip PIC processor.CAN based utility written in C# for the Windows PC side, and in C on the dsPIC33EP based control system. Used to configure new installations of the system. Implemented CAN on the controller as it had not originally been a part of it.Smartphone Bluetooth app for Android that is used to run various controllers in an embedded system.Several varied small embedded control systems utilizing primarily PIC16F, and PIC18F family processors.

Using Delta Tau Power PMAC control system on a VME chassis.Wrote encoder diagnostic software for 1st generation version of existing automatic machining system to diagnose problems with CNC lathe that the system drives.Assorted projects with Microchip dsPIC33 processors.Worked with Texas Instruments 16-Bit Ultra-Low Power MSP430™ Microcontroller, and CC2500 RF transceiver on a wireless project. This project then transitioned to using a Microchip PIC24F16KA102 low power 16 bit processor.

    Performed custom board support package work under Windows CE 6.0.Worked on iMX51 WinCE 6.0 BSP for new single board computer design. Modification of bootstrapping code and other special customization according to customer requirements.After completion of above WinCE project implemented a credit card mag stripe reader based on PIC18 design. This was a peripheral device on an Intel Atom E640 based tablet PC that is being developed. I did the low level bootstrap work on that. The BLDK bootstrap development was done under a Linux environment that generated x86 EFI binaries for the Atom.Have also done Linux hardware platform proof of concept work. This was on Freescale or TI architectures depending on client requirements. This work primarily consisted of kernel compilation and incorporation of needed device drivers on selected target systems.

Also designed and implemented software for 2.4 GHz spread spectrum remote control system that placed commands from remote transmitter onto J1939 2.0b Controller Area Network (CAN) for remote control of these machines.Both of these grinder product lines highly differentiated Vermeer from its competitors so that dominant market share was achieved.The horizontal grinder projects were completed under considerable time pressure and were brought from nothing to a shippable product in 6 months.
