Serve as a full-time faculty member teaching in the Higher Education and Community College Leadership Programs of the Department of Educational Foundations and Leadership. Serve as Graduate Program Director for master’s, education specialist and PhD programs to include the marketing, operation, curriculum development, management and other duties within all of the higher education graduate programs. Served as a teacher and technology coordinator in an alternative school housing middle and high school students

Supervised student conduct system, residence halls, student government, student center, student activities, student recreation and other student affairs activity. Reported to the Vice President for Student Affairs.

Provided general administrative support for the Dean of Students at a Research Extensive, public university with approximately 26,000 students. Had supervisory or advisory responsibility for Fraternity Affairs, Panhellenic Affairs, Student Conduct, strategic planning, student government operations, office publications, program assessment, professional development, office management, special projects, and other duties as assigned by the Dean of Students. Served as instructor for First Year Studies course. Served as primary ombudsperson for undergraduate student concerns. Managed athletic ticket distribution for students and student government election processes were computerized during my tenure. Implemented professional development program for staff and coordinated development of departmental policy and procedure manual.

Principal administrator for residence life and housing operation with approximately 3,000 students in thirteen residence halls, an apartment complex and several theme and special interest houses plus faculty, staff and graduate student housing in ten apartment buildings and several houses. Supervised seven professional staff, two support staff, twelve graduate students and over one hundred paraprofessional student staff. Worked with University Greek system and judicial affairs. Supervised Resident Student Association and house councils, which served as governance and programming bodies for all residence halls. Coordinated activities of Physical Plant, Housekeeping and Security functions in residence halls. Proposed and implemented new construction and major renovation items as part of an ongoing program of growth and improvements in all facilities. Supervised budgets totaling over six million dollars. Implemented substance free housing program, significantly decreased vandalism, implemented room and common area personalization program, implemented Total Quality Management program, and improved relationships with Physical Plant and University Police Department.

Chief student affairs officer for a comprehensive liberal arts college at which two-thirds of the students were commuters. Had overall responsibility for all non-academic student related programs and operations of the college including commuter student services, residence life and housing, programming and activities, student government, judicial systems, Greek organizations, health services, counseling and intramurals. Chaired several committees, task forces and studies. Worked with the President and other vice presidents regarding overall institutional operations and finances. Reported directly to the President. Responsible for Board of Trustees Student Life Committee. Completely rewrote and implemented campus student judicial system and significantly upgraded the level of preparation of student affairs staff.

Chief student affairs officer reporting to the President of the college. Had overall student affairs management and planning responsibility. Was responsible for policy development, budget development and management, departmental management and Board of Trustees planning. Served as a member of the College Council, Academic Council, and Admissions Committee as well as other ad hoc committees and boards. Chaired the Campus Affairs Council. Implemented professional development program and created positions that allowed cross training between residence hall and other student affairs staff.

Served as chief housing officer of the college. Responsible for the overall operation of all residence halls housing over 1300 students. This included supervision of residence life, housing, maintenance and housekeeping. Also supervised the judicial system, campus police, and the traffic and parking operation. Completely restructured and implemented judicial system, instituted room personalization program, and upgraded amenities in residence hall facilities.

Developed and supervised the Cooperative Education, Internship and Career Planning and Placement Programs of the college. Developed and taught a job placement skills course. Wrote and obtained two federal Cooperative Education program grants.

Taught seventh grade Social Studies, Virginia History, Reading and Physical Education at W. G. Coleman Elementary School, Marshall, Virginia. Served as production committee representative for Fauquier County to regional educational television station. Produced social studies programs for junior high school students.
