Import Traffic Manager
CurrentDirects staff in expediting import correspondence, airway bills, manifests and custom documents.Process import US Customs documentation associated with arriving flights as well as other government agency declarations including FDA, DOT, F&W, USDA.Responsible for timely and accurate communication with all related parties including customer, government agency, and third party transportation companiesPrepare and present reports on a regular basisFollow up with clients to ensure full service satisfaction and continued business.Able to work effectively in a multi-tasking environment and constructively under stress and pressure, especially in time constraints.Knowledgeable of air and ocean carrier's as well as transportation companies including trucking companies and warehouses.Great organizational skills and professional demeanor.Resolve customer complaints by investigating problems; developing solutions; preparing reports; making recommendation to managementHires and ensures training of new employeesOversees the documentation breakdown and delivery of cargo to customers, Export area, Domestic Stations, or Interline partners and airlines.Arranges shipping details for import Transfers, Domestic stations, and Interline partners and airlines.Expedites import arrangements and maintains information on import tariffs, charges, and other regulatory organization requirements. Oversees the Automated Manifest System (AMS) and ensures the airline is in compliance.Oversees the General Order Program and ensures the airline is in compliance.Performs employee reviews, coaches, councils, and assists employees to perform at their highest potential.Tracks performance against established standards for all activities under immediate supervision.Ability to read and interpret documents such as Bills of Lading and Airway Bills. Experienced with all Import Regulations. write routine reports and correspondenceMeets established cost benchmarks for the department
