While I was in graduate school I has the good fortune to have a job at an abstract company in Arkansas where I learned a lot about running title. The county was a hot bed of gas exploration activity so it was only natural I would get exposure to the industry. A friend of mine who was using the books of the abstract plant planted the seed to make the jump to field Landman and he actually referred me to Chris Haggard with Basin Oil and Gas in Okc for my first job. Working for Chris prepared me for the next jump as an in house Landman where I was surrounded by several accomplished young professionals in all areas of oil and gas. I am thankful for the time I had there working with those people. I started my group in 1985 and have the good fortune of working with excellent people over time with a common goal. Kind of a three Musketeers approach. One for all and all for one! I think this attitude and of working with people who have a common goal who have skin in the game raises the possibility of success in each prospect we generate. Our partners are the best and we are lucky to have most of them with us for over 30 years. I’m still having fun at 66 in this business and the only thing that could be more fun is passing on knowledge and good times with my grand children and children. Like they say…if I knew grandchildren were this much fun I would have had them first!
