Dennis Lane has extensive federal administrative law experience representing regulated entities before federal agencies and in courts at the trial and appellate levels. He served for five years as Solicitor of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, Dennis has represented utilities, trade associations, state commissions, and pipeline shippers in a broad range of rulemaking and litigated matters before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and courts; utility and other clients in Clean Air Act and Clean Water Act rulemaking proceedings before the Environmental Protection Agency and the courts; television program producers and syndicators in ongoing copyright matters related to the cable, satellite, internet, and other new program delivery systems; and contractors in government contract disputes before the Court of Federal Claims and the Federal Circuit. Dennis also maintains an active pro bono practice for which he has been recognized by the DC Bar as the 2015 Pro Bono Lawyer of the Year, by the Multicultural Media, Telecom and Internet Council with the 2019 Distinguished Pro Bono Service Award, and by the Advocates for Human Rights 2021 Volunteer Award.
