I am a PA and NJ licensed RN with one years' experience in the ED and 10 years' experience in EMS prior to nursing. An additional interest of mine is critical care, and I am currently considering moving to a more traditional critical care environment at this time to further focus my acumen in areas which will help me succeed in anesthesia or flight nursing, either of which I plan on pursuing a few years after I obtain a critical care position.My initial background in healthcare was as an Emergency Medical Technician. I have filled various roles as an EMT, including volunteer ambulance and bike EMS, EMS administration and development, specialty care transportation, urban and rural EMS, and routine medical transportation. Most recently I have added to my skill set by becoming an ED Technician. These roles have granted me experience as lead, secondary, and tertiary caregiver for prehospital, interhospital/facility, emergent, critical care, pediatric, gerontologic, nephrologic, and other environments and patient specialty areas along with administrative roles.Prior to nursing school, I received a bachelor's degree from Franklin and Marshall College with a concentration in Chemistry. While I no longer wish to pursue laboratory sciences, the skills and knowledge gained in a Chemistry education are still in multiple ways an asset to my current activities and aspirations.
