As an accountant for a business with $95 million in annual revenues that operates two dozen McDonald's restaurants in Massachusetts and New Hampshire, I create and audit monthly financials and monitor daily account and journal activity, I have been responsible for revamping Excel workbooks to update bookkeeping processes and ensure accuracy. I have led efforts to automate the accounts payable process, and to help train staff in onboarding new accounting software (Restaurant365.) I am very skilled in the Restaurant365 accounting platform, and have the capability to quickly learn and absorb best practices for any software or web platform I need to use. I have had some success writing VBA codes for Excel processes to streamline regular processes. I have strong interpersonal communication skills from my previous experience in hospitality and communication.Before beginning my accounting career, I spent over ten years working as a craft cocktail bartender and a freelance writer. I enjoyed the bookkeeping aspects of working as a restaurant manager, and also found I had an aptitude for accounting while managing my personal finances (which include a small rental property I have operated in New Hampshire since 2017.) I earned a graduate degree in accounting at the University of Massachusetts-Boston, with a 3.95 GPA.
