As Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, I was responsible for all financial aspects of the organization, reporting directly to the President/Owner. Working as the CFO I was able provide a hands-on approach to all the financial aspects of the company, but also was responsible for IT, Human Resources, and the general office area. While at Global I was successful in starting a new company designed to make parts through a metal injection molding (MIM) process out of Titanium powder. This start up, also knows as AmeriTi Parts, included the purchase of manufacturing facilities, the purchase of capital equipment, securing bank financing, as well as all the legal and risk management aspects of a new company. Some additional accomplishments include:• Successful installation of both the Plex ERP system and the Epicor ERP system. • Streamlining the monthly close process for financial statements and reports. • Negotiated and refinanced existing bank loans and lines of credits, saving $100,000 per year. • Challenged property tax assessments and classifications, successfully reducing the annual expense by 35%.• Worked with HR to reduce employee union issues, reviewed and purchased employee benefit plans saving over $300,000 per year. Restructured 401K plans to meet current regulatory compliance. As the Global Business Controller, I reviewed and developed consistent financial and management reporting packages, allowing for accurate consolidated reporting of the global operations. Established cross functional teams to develop global standards for purchasing, engineering, and project management. Created consistent measurements for project proposal, purchasing and financial KPI’s. Some accomplishments: • Established new product lines through internal development. First year sales surpassed 100 units or a 12% increase to the global sales, at a margin higher than our existing product line.• Worked on three mergers and acquisitions, with a value of over $100m. The products were custom designed and built primarily at our Auburn Hills location for the North American market. As the Business Controller I managed all the financial aspects of the organization. This included extensive financial planning and analysis, both short and long term strategic planning, managing capital expenditure plans, all financial reporting for US GAAP requirements, as well as IFRS compliant reporting. The projects were quoted using a standard costing system that included labor, material, production, and currency variances. Each project was sold as quoted requiring strong tools to monitor and understand the current financial result as the project progressed from design to manufacture, to testing and installation. Some accomplishments:• Complete overhaul of the existing ERP system and process for accounting for projects. Improved the reliability and accuracy allowing for accurate and trusted reporting of project results. • Developed advanced Excel VBA programs that increased the accuracy and improved the efficiency of the project proposal process. Resulted in increased profitability by accurately understanding project requirements and costs. • Implemented strategic planning process within the organization.
