I am a carpenter with over ten years of experience in most of the construction trades, both residential and commercial. Most of my previous experience consists of framing, roofing, siding, flooring, and painting. However, I also have a fair amount of knowledge and application of trim(finish carpentry), electrical, and landscaping as well. Iron Worker/Carpenter

B&W Construction

Bogue Chitto, Ms

I was part of a 4-6 man team that was responsible for the construction of steel framed buildings, such as warehouses, office buildings, large pole barns, storage-unit complexes, etc. This included the framing of the steel "I" beams, girders, and purlins to complete the framing of each structure. The next phase would be to isulate the walls and roof. I then assisted the team putting in any windows, personnel doors,and/ or garage style "roll-up" doors, according to the specifications of each individual project. The next step, is to install the aluminum, corrugated siding and roof panels. Along with any flashing, ridge cap, gutters, downspouts, or trim; that is needed to finish the exterior of that particular job.

Carpenter

Gator Strength Construction

Covington, La

I was the only other employee, when my little cousin started this construction company; and' we started with a few hand tools, an ancient circular saw, and a select few, second-hand tools from friends. Over the years, I helped David Hebert(CEO/Owner) expand that company into the efficient, reliable, and profitable "machine" it is today. We began doing small renovations, custom decks, and completed a few really "high-end" remodels we bid on and being hired to complete. Those few remodels put us on the map and created a buzz. This transformed that small, two-manned operation into a Residential General Contractor, that does several hundred thousand dollars in sales every year, employing over 8-11 people at any given time, and owning two, 18' enclosed trailers, equipped with every power and hand tools ever invented or required on any construction job site. I became a Supervisor/Foreman for the company, who was responsible for leading a 3-5 man crew, to complete anything from custom porches and decks, outdoor kitchens and living areas, flooring jobs, renovations, roofing (new and repairs), finish work(i.e., trim, crown moulding, cabinets, etc.) among others, as well. I was, also, responsible for keeping the job costs within the targeted budget, keeping track of my entire crew's weekly hours, interaction with home owners and customers. ensuring the project was completed on schedule, and created "bids" or estimates for some of the potential jobs.

Assembly Technician I/Assembly Technician Ii

84 Millwork (Owned By 84 Lumber Co)

Hammond, La

I was employed at this mill where the interior/exterior, pre-hung doors and windows were assembled and, then delivered to the 84 Lumber locations, throughout the Southeastern Region of the United States (including most of LA, MS, AL, and some of TX, and FL). I was hired when this location opened it's doors for business; and, remained employed until it was closed, due to the poor economy, at the time. I was initially hired on as an entry-level position. Then, trained on the steps and procedures to assemble the different doors and windows, ensuring the most cost effective and time efficient operation possible. This began by loading all materials, such as door panels, hinges, door jambs, etc) at the beginning of the assembly line. Once the doors were assembled, they would be transferred to the Staging Area of the mill. Here is where the finished products were checked for quality, and then grouped or packaged, according to work orders. Finally, then were sorted and arranged according to the delivery drivers' route. Allowing him to have an easy and organized unloading of each store's order. I was trained on a conventional, gas powered forklift as well as an electric, stand-up forklift. I, also, gained experience in the use of an electric palletizer, ladder jack, as well as all machinery, tools, and equipment used in the assembling of these doors and windows. This entire process was to be completed without compromising the quality or structural integrity of each door and window. As well as, maintaining a clean and safe work environment for me, my co-workers, and any visitors from 84 Lumber Company's upper Management & Headquarters, members of the Board of Directors, and various corporate customers that may appear at the facility.
