We work with some of the biggest names in tech, and leverage the latest software, equipment, and expertise.In this role, I played a key role in change management at the onset/duration of the COVID pandemic with IT operations by working closely with senior IT leadership and the greater team as a thought partner and advocate as we shifted to remote work and later on during the return to the office. In addition to this and providing operations support for senior leaders, I was responsible for compliance tracking (consistently > 90% compliance for all key metrics across the team) and streamlined communications as part of our efforts to improve knowledge management.Because of my performance, I participated in multiple stretch opportunities, including with our PMO as rotating scrum master and product owner. I also overhauled our FTE allocations tracking process and created a single platform for the IT finance team and Project Managers.On top of this, I was the Scrum master for over 6 months for our Admissions custom apps team, ran the daily standup and sprit planning/retrospective sessions, and performed ticked queue management.Finally, I participated in a Business Analyst assignment in which I worked with HR to implement an upgrade to Workday Today, performing requirements gathering, project planning, and change management, benefitting nearly 2000 staff and contractors.

As Alumni Ambassador, I support Teach For China Alumni during the second part of their lifelong fight for educational equity in China and around the world. With Teach For China staff, Fellows, and alumni working together, the organization will continue to be China's premiere education reformer after eleven years of demonstrated impact, growing organically to five provinces after beginning with our first cohort of Yunnan Fellows in 2009. As part of my work, I reground our US Alumni in our mission by organizing reunions across the United States, creating/sending out quarterly newsletters, updating alumni contact information, keeping Teach For China and Teach For All staff abreast of our work, certification of service completion for our Alumni throughout their careers, and attending global conferences at partner organizations to represent our alumni. From August 2017 through April 2018, I was employed part-time in this role; from May 2018 to the present, I serve on a volunteer basis.

Braven empowers promising young people on their path to college graduation and strong first jobs. We believe that our next generation of leaders will emerge from everywhere, so we take a particular interest in ensuring our talent network is filled with people from underrepresented backgrounds. To do so, Braven partners with educational institutions, volunteer professionals, and employers to offer a rigorous and relevant career readiness course, that is followed by robust alumni programming. The course is targeted as a part of the sophomore or transfer junior experience. From the Braven Accelerator will come a generation of leaders as diverse as our future demands.In my role, I wore multiple hats. On the programmatic front, I drove our program's operations and post-course support for over 450 alumni. One way I did this was managing our Professional Mentor program, which I piloted for two semesters with 45 mentor pairs in the 2017-2018 academic year and paved the way for it to be part of our core post-course programming in the 2018-2019 academic year with 55 mentor pairs.To ensure our alumni enjoyed strong first jobs, I owned regional data collection and analysis, resulting in a 64% and 66% annual alumni survey completion rate in 2017 and 2018, respectively. To help our team reach our goals, I directly managed one or two operations interns each semester and a regional data intern. Additionally, I was on the hook for volunteer recruitment. I recruited over 200 mock interviewers over 3 semesters, 99 Professional Mentors over 4 semesters, and 22 coaches in a single semester.Lastly, I supported our Executive Director with our external affairs efforts. I conducted research on employer partners and donors, maintained our Salesforce records, supported with partner and board communications, and organize external events for the employer partner community.

My job was all about logistics, which was great. What I enjoyed most was strengthening IT team culture through celebration event planning and execution, raising the bar higher and higher. I engaged in positive, proactive communication with high-profile vendors including Salesforce and Box. I facilitated IT operations through calendar management, expense reporting, invoice processing, and travel planning.In addition, on the side I also performed data analysis for the Pre-Corps Development Team to identify best practices for Corps Member recruitment.

First as an intern and later as a staff volunteer, I researched and compiled resources for over 250 staff and corps members on monthly virtual discussion topics that included anti-Black racism and the AAPI community, AAPI women in leadership, and mental health.

As a freelancer, I was tasked with advancing Teach For China's fundraising efforts on a project-by-project basis. One of my main roles was to provide event consulting and support. I wrote our auction item descriptions and other documents for our galas,including the 2016 Shenzhen and Hong Kong Galas, during which I helped raise US $3 million and $2.7 million, respectively. I also maintained relations with English-language donors by writing our Annual, Impact, and End-of-Year Reports, and monthly newsletters.

Where you are born in China determines your educational prospects. In large Chinese cities, nearly 80% of students have the chance to attend college but in rural China, only 5% of students enjoy the same opportunities.As a Fellow, it was my duty to help level the playing field. Using Teach For America's Teaching as Leadership model, I engaged my students each day in comprehensive English: reading, writing, and speaking. Through relentless work, adaptations, cultural understanding, and a sense of possibility, I raised my 460+ students' average scores by over 20 points.However, success in my classroom was not enough. To help the organization become make true transformational impact on students, I sought leadership roles in the Fellow Advisory Council, first as Staff Liaison and then as National Co-Chair where I was tasked with improving communication between Fellows and staff. As a union chair of sorts, I succeeded in pushing for greater Fellow benefits, while strengthening relationships. Over the two years, I worked with Fellows, HR and the COO to improve the Fellow Manual/Contract, as well as directly consulted the CEO on a number of issues.In addition, as Fourth Grade EFL Grade Level Coordinator, I worked with 50+ Fellows and Program Managers nationwide to improve teaching methods, classroom management, and investment plans. While developing and implementing curriculum, resources and assessments for three sets of textbooks, I not only increased Fellow and Program Manager confidence but also more accurate impact data management.

During this time I analyzed student performance data for exemplary Fellow impact for donor reports, researched new fundraising methods, led the initial investigation of partnership with Coca-Cola’s Project Hope, phone-screened Credit Suisse employees for Fellow mentorship program, worked with Barclays to support Summer Institute, and supported a fundraiser with WildChina.I also drafted auction item descriptions for our 2015 Hong Kong Gala, performed vendor negotiations, and helped write action plans and logistics checklists that ultimately led to US $1.85 million raised for the students of China.
