I am proud to lead a company that helps industry overcome emission problems while serving society as a whole by reducing emissions of greenhouse gases and other toxic compounds. In 2003, I hypothesized that I could track invisible emission plumes using standard air quality data. The inspiration for my idea came from learning about animals, like elephants, that can detect and predict the location of predators using their sense of smell. What if I could detect and predict the location of emission sources using ambient air quality data? I put this idea to the test and found that by observing plumes from multiple sampling locations, I was able to track these emissions back to their sources using triangulation. Realizing the impact that such a technology could have on both industry and the world, I have been focused on the development of the Airdar technology since then. With 25 years of experience in emissions monitoring, I have successfully applied the Airdar technology in the oil and gas, chemical processing, wastewater treatment and waste management industries to address emission problems and achieve wins for both industry and the communities they work in.Prior to inventing Airdar, I worked for 2 years as a research associate at the University of Alberta, followed by 8 years working as an environmental consultant, during which time I led the development of a personal monitor capable of measuring hydrogen sulfide in the low ppb range.
