About Dennis Ray

Philosophy of education Education is the key to success in life. Its importance and impact cannot be overstated. Each child is an individual that has unique abilities, talents, needs, and desires. It is the job of the educational system to be able to meet those needs, cultivate talents, and provide an atmosphere that challenges students to the extent that their abilities develop into the skills necessary for them to be successful in the job market. With this in mind, it is vital that the educational process be carried out in a research-based manner taking into account Core Standards, continual assessment, and data-driven adjustments based on assessments aligned to standards. Though standards-based assessments, and data-driven instruction are tools by which effective instruction should be carried out, it is not all that education is meant to be for students. Education needs to lead children through the process of self-discovery where they take ownership of their learning and goals for success. Those students who are critical thinkers, take into account their own shortcomings, and with guidance from teachers, counselors, and administrators set attainable goals just outside the zone of proximal development, and consistently work to achieve more. Educational leaders need to be willing to plan with teachers, help them with curricular challenges, aid in planning lessons, model effective teaching strategies, and honestly take stock of their school’s status through frank, deep analysis of data from all types of assessments. They need to be the type of leader that inspires others to do their best, because they themselves give their best. I have a constant desire to learn and improve, and love to take on challenges and meet them knowing that if I give it all I have, I can come out on top. I am determined to do what is best for kids, and what will allow them to obtain the skills they must have to succeed.

Listed skills include Classroom, Curriculum Design, Staff Development, Tutoring, and 46 others.
