I currently supervise the Community Service Workers, perform duties of the Office Manager. Submit monthly reports for Gift in Kind, Check Runs, and Client information for the food pantry. Payroll processing. Process pledges for those clients seeking assistance with IL American Water, in disconnect status. Coordinate training of proper packaging of donated bulk food for client use. Administer Better Impact System for all volunteers background checks, and scheduling. I am one of the Certified Trainers for the Safe from Harm program, which is a comprehensive safety and abuse prevention program. A comprehensive program that looks at safety and abuse prevention from all angles.A large focus is on training all staff who work with children, youth and vulnerable adults so that they understand the programBut there is more to the program than training! Looking at how facilities are designed to prevent accidents and opportunities for abuse; proper procedures to follow when hiring employees and recruiting volunteers; proper supervision practices; planning activities appropriately to minimize risksWhen done right, SFH becomes a “way of doing things” or a “mindset” to quite some experienced staff members.
