    • Under this role, I traveled on deployment to UNHCR offices on short notice on behalf of the Africa Regional Deployment Unit (ARDU). I was deployed for a whole year in Kasulu, Tanzania. I regularly traveled to Nyarugusu Refugee Camp.• I conducted almost 100 resettlement interviews and drafted the UNHCR Resettlement Registration Form (RRFs) for all my cases.• Under this role, I was also involved in making assessments and contributing towards identifying resettlement cases, including case verification.• In the second half of the deployment, I focused on deferrals from RSC Africa. Most of the cases involved drafting new RRFs to include the new add-on spouses.• I also contributed to the updating of ARDU staff resources such as Country of Origin Information (COI), current practices, and approaches in RRF writing. My last assignment on the job was the creation of COI material forEritrea.• In general, the role also involved a lot of self-driven activities as I was the only Kenyan deployee in Tanzania. I had to report both to the UNHCR and ARDU supervisors and management regularly. I also had to write many weekly reports for both UNHCR and RSC Africa throughout the period.
