I started my career in the Twin Tiers of New York, Finger lakes region. Being fortunate to work with a few very talented mentors in the civil, industrial and aggregate communities. In this unique area of New York I was able to gain experience in a multitude of trades covering almost all aspects of construction to some extent. Using this experience I started my own company and continued to learn and grow over the next several years. Even being fortunate enough to have my father join me in my endeavors. With the growth of my family and company came exposure, which presented me with several opportunities to expand my knowledge and experience. One of which after discussing with my family and mentors led me to accepting an offer In Georgia. One which would provide many more opportunities led by a man that loved the civil world and all of its challenges. Following Mark Massmann's leadership I was able to build on my knowledge in an extremely diverse array of challenging projects. All of this with my father David Walrath still by my side and continuing to mentor and support my chosen path. In this role that was largely undefined I was exposed to practices and methods that changed the way I approached almost everything. Building practices, bidding, scheduling, managing it was all different. I enjoyed this role immensely, the culture allowed and encouraged growth on all fronts cheering on our achievements. A few of us where fortunate enough to partner up with the founder and achieved great things expanding to multiple city's in different states. This only added to our experiences and knowledge, learning some lessons the hard way. Which are lessons not soon forgotten and prove most valuable. I have since went on to consulting and sharing my experience with other growing companies that can benefit from my mistakes and success's. I'm able to provide assistance in a wide range of roles as my experience in owning, working, managing, bidding all from the ground to the top. My path will hopefully always allow me the opportunity to share my knowledge with the young men and women that share the passion and excitement that being a builder brings.
