(Certified Director of Safety), and fleet compliance management systems in multiple locations throughout the Western States. I have played a major and integral role in multiple facilities' success in reducing accidents, incidents, trainings, and CSA compliance.I am an excellent relationship builder with success in forming strong sustainable relationships between I and upper level management down to the lower level employees. These strong relationships and great communication skills are a necessary ingredient to unified company fleet compliance, safety, and accountability.I have 30 years of experience, extensive safety and compliance training, managing, on-the-job and out in the field knowledge and wisdom resulting in a reduction of accidents, incident rates and improved CSA scores.I also have the ability to identify, isolate, and eliminate unsafe truck drivers, equipment, and behaviors that are necessary to maintain complete fleet safety and FMCSA compliance. I began my career in trucking in 1991 as an OTR reefer driver. In 1996, I got engaged to my beautiful wife and she suggested that I divorce my truck and find local work. I started driving for a local construction company and soon became their lead driver. In 2002, this small company was acquired by Clyde Companies. I was grandfathered into this company and within a few years was promoted to Truck Superintendent. I maintained a fleet of trucks and drivers in Utah County and Salt Lake City then soon reached 80 drivers. As Clyde Companies continued to grow, I excepted the role of Fleet Compliance Manager for two Clyde Companies in 2018.Since 2018, I eagerly continued growing and educating myself in FMCSA compliance and regulations. As the Fleet Compliance Manager, I was working in the Safety Department so I was also assisting in MSHA and OSHA regulations and compliance.FMCSA compliance is where my passion lies. I love interacting with other trucking institutions, our drivers, associations, and other trucking related organizations. I’ve earned and currently hold A CDS In NATMI. (North American Trucking Management Institute). In addition to multiple trucking certifications, I also hold many MSHA and OSHA certifications such as TTT, First Aid, CPR, and AED trainer, Mental Health First Aid Trainer, Part 46 and 48 MSHA training certifications.I am always eager to grow. My 2023 continual growth goal is to earn my SMS CSP. I’m currently enrolled in the BCSP program.
