Worked under the leadership of Executive Director John Muir (Ex-Officio) Part of the transition team from the Founding Executive Director to the new Executive Director, I was hired as the Assistant Director of Programs and within a few short weeks, I was promoted to the Director's position. Scheduling and maintain daily, weekly and monthly staff meetings within each of the four program areas: Neighborhood Environments Program (NEP), Environmental Sciences, Early Childhood and Architecture, Planning and Urban Studies (APLUS+) Assessing and providing for the needs of each of the four program areas, which operate within schools and communities throughout NYC. Note: The BCUE Programs service more than 60,000 school age children, community residents and Community Based Organizations (CBO's) with a Program project based budget of $1.1 million dollars, presently. Serving as Senior Staff member to inform, advise and coordinate efforts, agendas and needs of the Executive Director and the overall Organization. Responsible for the overseeing of the Program Division's support staff: Program Assistants, Coordinators and Assistant Coordinators for each Program area. Overseeing of 4 staff members (Program Department Heads or Chairs)Supervising of 22 full time staff members. Helping to develop and fine tune curriculum materials, after school programs and projects in cooperation with local government and not for profit organizations, teachers and staff.Develop and conduct staff training/development workshops and outreach events.
