James Burton Foundation – Shreveport, LA A private foundation working to support music education for those in need through guitar donations and music instruction to schools, hospitals and community service organizations.Executive Director• Worked with Caddo and Bossier Parish school boards to provide supplemental music instruments and instruction to public and private schools to replace displaced arts programs.• Responsible for foundation operations, personnel, planning, fundraising, and facilities. Responsible for management of two audio recording studios.• Directed the design and pre-construction of The James Burton Museum and Performing Arts Center.• Responsible for all productions relating to the collection and presentation of popular music history.

• Assisted the University in design of oral history program for presentation within the RICHES (Regional Initiative for Collecting the Histories, Experiences, and Stories of Central Florida) program. RICHES, an umbrella program housing interdisciplinary public history projects that bring together different departments at UCF College of Arts and Humanities with profit and non-profit sectors of the community.• Served on committee for the development of the custom Mosaic software program. Cocoa Beach Surf Museum – Cocoa Beach, FL A nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and documenting all aspects of the unique history and culture of East Coast surfing. Archivist/Historian • Responsible for all aspects of collection, preservation and presentation of historical data.• Secured grant and implemented installation of software for the capture storage and retrieval of documents as well as static images such as photographs, newspaper clippings, and digital video/film.• Developed Oral History program including all forms and procedures, determined equipment specifications and coordinated volunteer staff.• Completed and edited numerous oral/video histories of celebrity surfers and industry leaders.
