Design should never be an afterthought, even when working in the digital domain. Always design for the user, the brand and the message, and in that order. If you can't entice the user, your message and branding will be lost. If you entice the user with the message but the branding is inadequate it might resolve in a conversion, but with a no gain on brand recognition.I believe in a critical approach to online marketing, far too long have our e-pipes been overflowing with nonsense advertisements and a widely targeted shotgun approach. This only ends up diluting the message, over-saturating our audience and an ever-increasing Adblock subscription rate. Retargeting, native advertising and contextual marketing should take precedent in your campaigns. Everyone can create a banner advert, but not everyone can generate leads and deliver a high ROI.I have an extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with the most commonly used ad-hosting systems: Adform, DoubleClick and Sizmek.Outside of work I have an interest in all things entertainment, be they movies, television, books or games (digital and board variety).Core Skills:• FLASH • HTML5 • CSS3 • PHP • JQuery / Javascript• Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Flash, Adobe Dreamweaver, Adobe EdgeAdditional experience in:Video Editing, UX, Responsive / Mobile design, SEO, Wordpress, Concept development, Splunk Stats, PhotographyI’m always interested in hearing from interesting creative folk, so feel free to contact me if you’d like to connect.
