I loved working for Vertical Leap, I felt valued and like my opinion mattered. There was a friendly family like feeling in the office which led to a comfortable atmosphere and in turn to a stress-free environment. I was head hunted by the Managing Director of Vertical Leap and was offered a job after walking through my capabilities and experience. As well as updating the main product to a newer technology I was also had the chance to work on some cool projects during my time here and got to meet a lot of new people and learn a lot of new technologies.• Looking at new technologies to improve the products to suit the business.• Built a cluster of bots that work on Raspberry Pi's and Docker.• I used SignalR to create a network for the bots to talk to each other and get work off a queue. The bots can talk to each other and talk to the management portal that I also made in MVC. The management portal allowed remote updating to all bots and gave capabilities to disable the bots etc. It had real time logging through sockets so we can see what each bot is doing real time.• I created an API in C# for the bots to talk to the database and act as the hub.• The main product had a lot of legacy code and used a lot of outdated frameworks, I was occasionally tasked with refactoring and updating a lot of the sections/pages.• Being a Senior Developer, I often gave valuable input and thoughts and was usually tasked with the big tasks such as adding new features and refactoring big features etc.

I really enjoyed my role at Lead Forensics, I felt valued and management always listened to the employee’s thoughts. I was managing one of the key features within our product and was constantly liaising with the product manager and the managing director to improve the product. We kept track of everything through Jira, managing tasks and completing sprints, we had a ‘Stand Up’ every morning and a sprint planning session every 2 weeks to help us meet our sprint deadlines, this was a very team-oriented role. Alongside my main role, I was occasionally tasked with development that wasn’t part of the main product, occasionally prototype or a client specific application, regardless it was always completed to the best of my ability and always met the deadline.• Looking at new technologies to improve the products to suit the business.• Improving and managing key aspects in the main product (built in MVC).• A lot of refactoring, getting rid of old and slow technologies and consistency overhauling.• Heavy focus on SQL with a touch of Redis for the microservices.• A lot of Prototyping and assisting on various products throughout the business.• First look at chaining microservices and hosting them in the cloud for a completely agile environment and created a setup that can scale perfectly to match the traffic of the app which turned out to be a lot more effective than I thought.• Assisted on creating a companion app for our main product which was released on the apply and google stores and met with overwhelmingly positive feedback from our clients.

I joined this company to get more experience in my current field, taking on some new languages and a lot of new problems I enjoyed my work here. Learning new languages and getting my teeth stuck into some consumer focused development which was what I was looking for. Meeting with customers to get a better understanding of their requirements to make my work more precise and always on point. Working remotely or on customers sites also help in gaining experience of the whole development cycle and helped build my confidence as I am having meetings with important people for big companies and banks. This role consisted of a lot of team work and also a good combination of solo development. • Constant problem solving using C#, Cappuccino, NoSQL (Mongo DB), XML and BSON. • Travelling to customers and constant communication till the end point. • Developing automation systems for ease of use and to allow for simulation.

I joined this company to get experience and learn more about software development, The Innovation Group successfully taught me the life cycle of developing software and not too long after I started they gave me a lot of responsibility. It wasn't long till I had an ASP.NET system to look after and develop by myself; intimidating at first considering how many people were counting on me, but once I got used to it I enjoyed everyday, I enjoyed working with databases and going through the whole development to UAT cycle. The main language I used was C# and SQL because my main system I was developing was an ASP.NET solution.• Constant C#, ASP.net, SQL, CSS, HTML and Photoshop use. • Managing/Developing a system then creating the corresponding app in WPF to link to the same database as corresponding system, then developing the apps offline use with the use of occasional sync. • I was on the front line of development so I was involved in the process right from receiving the spec and brainstorming through to releasing and receiving feedback which in turn lead to improving our products.

I started this job as work experience for Horndean Technology College for two weeks. At the end of the two weeks Powertecnique offered me a casual contract to stay and work when I can, doing various jobs and cover for various people. • Contacting customers and checking to see if their product is working as expected.• Contacting suppliers and ordering a delivery.• Ensuring that the deliveries and collections go as planned.• Ensuring that project managers are organized and are on track.• I had to make sure that maintenance was organised on time.• I had to manage the engineers and make sure that they were booked for the day, and if they weren't I had to organize something for them to do.• In Finance I processed and coded purchase invoices and issued stock to various jobs. I also processed time sheets and processed new job packs. Filing and scanning was also part of this role.
