Key accomplishments included: Developing & implemention of HR strategy to support the transformation of a primarily domestic enterprise to one with a smaller domestic base and significantly increased footprint in countries around the world; leading the successful merger of numerous worldwide acquisitions, evaluating and consolidating staffing strategies, compensation, benefit and retirement plans and leading the rationalization and integration of workforces; developing and implementing a successful worldwide succession planning and leadership development program.

Recruited as a key member of a newly formed leadership team with specific responsibility for the assimilation and alignment of HR departments, policies and programs of recently merged manufacturing, distribution and direct mail businesses offering consumable office, archival and Human Resource products.

Now part of Tyco, Westec was America’s premier provider of state-of-the-art electronic security services to high-end residential and commercial users. Key accomplishments included developing and implementing the staffing model to allow Westec to effectively grow from a Southern California organization of 800 employees to a national organization with 3,500 employees, and leading an HR group that was regularly crowned the top internal business partner and service provider in enterprise-wide surveys conducted by outside consultants.

Laidlaw was the premier provider of privatized school bus and mass transit services in North America. Key accomplishments included managing more than 120 individual collective bargaining relationships, including negotiating all initial and successor agreements, serving as advocate for all grievance and interest arbitration hearings and regularly representing the company before the NLRB. In five years at the helm of Laidlaw’s labor relations, not one student or commercial passenger was ever left without transportation because of a work stoppage.
