As a barista at Starbucks, my primary responsibilities were to take orders, craft drinks according to Starbucks standards, and serve them to customers. I provided excellent customer service and built relationships with customers by engaging in conversation as I prepared their orders. I was responsible for having a working knowledge of our menu offerings in order to effectively address any questions, and provide my own personal insight to customers as necessary. In this position, I was encouraged to build connections with regular customers by starting up casual conversations and getting to know them on a more personal level.

As a transportation engineering intern, I aided senior engineers in drafting roadway plans, including horizontal alignment, traffic control plan phasing, pavement markings and typical sections. I worked on multiple projects within Houston, and used MicroStation to revise drawings according to client feedback.

As a transportation intern, I aided in the completion of a variety of traffic studies, including traffic impact analyses, signal warrant analyses and crash data analyses. Implementing programs such as Synchro and VISSIM, I simulated future traffic conditions for project sites and analyzed the impact of the proposed developments. Alongside senior level engineers, I helped draft documentation to clients and project managers throughout the span of projects. I also kept communication with project managers to ensure that project deadlines were being met on time and on budget.

As a Summer Program Intern, I supervised students as they completed various STEM activities. Throughout each shift, I led the students through different challenges and competitions that required them to apply knowledge of the STEM fields. As a Fitness Supervisor, I was the leader of a group of 3 to 6 Fitness Assistants, and helped to ensure that the gym operated smoothly and efficiently. I was responsible for informing Fitness Assistants of their cleaning duties for the day, ensuring that they were completed during the shift, providing tours to visitors, and restocking supplies when needed. In the Fitness Supervisor position, I also served as the primary line of communication with Professional Staff members, as well as other supervisors throughout the facility.
