• Advises Data Center Operations management on Cyber Security issues and requirements.• Configures Data Center’s Host Based Security Solution (HBSS) to meet Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) developed Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG).• Reviewed and developed a streamlined procedure, used by all Data Center teams, for completing DISA developed Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG).

• Utilized Cyber Security tools, such as the Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), Security Compliance Checker (SCC), and Retina to perform various vulnerability scans to ensure the health of the network. The types of scans include the Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM) scan and the Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) scan.• Utilized the Enterprise Mission Assurance Support (eMASS) and Vulnerability Remediation Asset Manager (VRAM) applications to upload both vulnerability scan results and documentation required to obtain an Authorization To Operate (ATO).• Reviewed Cyber Security threat information disseminated by USCYBERCOM and other sources to determine if threat affected the command’s network. Threat information included Information Assurance Management Alerts (IAVA), Information Assurance Management Bulletins (IAVB), and published vulnerabilities.• Briefed management on all detected vulnerabilities and required countermeasures. Coordinated with the Network section to validate that these proposed countermeasures did in fact mitigate the risks for all detected vulnerabilities.• Developed customized vulnerability scans and reports which indicated real-time state of network for senior-level management and System Administrators.• Created and maintained documents required for issuance of an Authorization to Operate (ATO). Documents include Plan of Action & Milestones (POA&M), Risk Assessment Report (RAR), Certification Determination letter, and Test Plan.• Reviewed the configuration of servers, workstations, network components, and databases on a classified network to validate compliance with Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) developed Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG).• Developed and updated Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for the Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), Vulnerability Remediation Asset Manager (VRAM), and Flying Squirrel applications.

• Served as the senior communication officer at eight Embassies. Duties included managing all daily operations of communication center, supervising subordinate Americans and local national staff, developing and managing yearly budgets, and representing United States Embassy to local foreign government officials.• Served as System Administrator on classified and unclassified networks at communication centers. Duties included managing site’s Active Directory Organizational Unit (OU), servers, workstations, printers, and peripherals equipment for all networks. Created, modified, troubleshot, and deleted group policies and network accounts, such as administrative, user, and computer accounts. Installed, troubleshot, and removed applications and Windows-based operating systems on servers and workstations on the network. Created, troubleshot, and updated both fat and thin client images used to create servers and workstations. Used network based backup systems to backup and restore data on network assets. Performed limited management on the routers and switches for both networks. Operated and maintained satellite and terrestrial communication equipment.• Served as Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) at eight Embassies. Duties included performing all actions required by the department’s command center to ensure that the integrity and security is maintained for all networks. Installing all required updates, patches, and hot fixes to network assets. Reviewed server and workstation audit logs to determine if unauthorized activities occurred. Performed user security briefings and advised users of all security requirements and issues. Assisted in security related investigations of users.• Planned and managed numerous projects at eight Embassies. Duties included briefing senior management to obtain senior-level approval and support. Managed staff to support both daily communication center operations and to ensure completion of the project on time and under budget.

• Served as a Technical Specialist in the COMSEC section of the Information Assurance branch at the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) headquarters in Tampa, Florida.• Responsible for evaluating emerging technologies, such as Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), Biometrics, and Secure Telephone Equipment (STE) to determine its impact on USSOCOM operations.• Served as USSOCOM's representative on the Department of Defense (DOD) PKI and STE working groups. • Served as the Alternate COMSEC Custodian.

• Served as a senior Electronic Technician at Galeta Island in the Republic of Panama.• Responsible for operating, maintaining, and repairing all Satellite, Microwave, and HF Transmitters and Receivers, as well as operating the sites Emergency Generator.

• Operated, maintained, and repaired all UHF, HF, VHF, and ELF communication equipment onboard Navy submarines. • Maintained all associated antennas and equipment, including the hydraulic system that raised and lowered the communication antennas.
