Associate Dean of Instruction (Oct 2022-Oct 2023)The Dean of Manufacturing and Trades reports to the Vice President of Instruction and supervises Manufacturing and Trades Division full-time faculty, part-time faculty, and staff, and acts as the lead administrator on site at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for OC Apprenticeship School, Helper, and After Hours programs. The Dean of Manufacturing and Trades provides oversight, planning, leadership, and management for the development, and support of manufacturing and trades programs and program faculty, including welding, technical design, precision machining, construction trades, and industrial trades (Main Campus/Shelton/PSNS). The Dean oversees the development of future manufacturing and trades related programs/pathways. The Dean will also take a lead role in the development and maintenance of the PSNS contract and has primary responsibility for PSNS apprenticeship, helper, and evening programs.

My team was dedicated to continuous improvement and human performance through a culture of learning and strengths based management. We served as the organizational development liaisons and advisers to Skookum Leadership. We created plans, developed and implemented organizational development and training programs for all Skookum employees. We were responsible for development and integration of career education programs and employee training systems to achieve strategic business goals and operational objectives. We were the experts in adult education, development and training, change management, organizational design and team effectiveness.

As the COO, I had overall strategic and operational responsibility for all daily operations and programs. We primarily worked with WA DVR & DSSB, with contracts in Western WA and Northwest Oregon. Our main service was soft skills training and coaching helping our clients with career exploration and personal growth.

As the Commandant of the WYA, part of the National Guard Youth Challenge Program, I was an executive officer with oversight of student life at the 150 bed facility, within the 22 week residential phase of a 17 month National Guard Youth Challenge Program.

My 20 years on active duty taught me allot about leadership, follower-ship and people. I understand dedication, commitment, dependability, and hard work. I know what it is to be a part of a High Performance Team and I truly value all people as a result of my diverse and unique military experiences.
