After college, I worked for Aon Insurance Company in Chicago. I worked in the Reinsurance and Financial Statements Department as an Accountant. I left Aon Insurance in 1989 to proceed in a career as a Trader on the Chicago Board of Trade. I received my brokerage license and proceeded to trade on my own account. I traded 30-year U.S. Treasury bond futures in the open cry pit. I was trading until 1993 when I decided to sell my seat and become an entrepreneur in the retail business. I bought with my family two small family businesses. One of the businesses was Villari Florist located in downtown Chicago. The other business was J&P Delivery. The business had a direct relationship with Villari Florist. J&P is a delivery cooperative that services 65 florist in the Chicago area. I sold Villari Florist in 2000 and then sold J&P delivery in 2009. During the 1990's, I was part of a partnership that bought three office buildings with adjoining parking lots. I currently help manage these properties with twelve different tenants.
