Their mainframe data was a complete mess. What the enterprise wanted was a single source of truth for their manufacturing, customer, and GL data migrated to S/4 HANA. As a result of our best practices approach, we eliminated a 20% redundancy rate in their customer master, merged 7 separate material masters, and successfully reconciled converted GL balances after a full chart of accounts (COA) remapping. This lead to higher confidence in the new system and better data quality for their Financial go-live on SAP S/4HANA.

Responsibilities included organizing efforts to analyze the custom, mainframe source system, gather requirements necessary to transform the data to Oracle eBS R12, develop repeatable conversion programs and data validation routines for supply chain and financial modules.Project scope included a phased rollout of Oracle eBS across 6 international brands. Unique challenges on this project included a major effort to gather and maintain item master and procurement data that was non-existent in the legacy system, special design considerations for a business model that allows nearly countless configuration options across paints and fabrics, and complex requirements around open transactions and advanced pricing.

Technology Consultant - Higher EducationPremier International Jan 2012 - Nov 2014Chicago, Illinois, UsThe client institution had decades worth of mainframe data spread across 6 different campuses and 40 thousand employees. Legacy systems included a custom mainframe system and Datatel. There was already limited knowledge and documentation around their legacy system and the few remaining resources were nearing retirement. Data quality was poor - inconsistencies existed between the Benefits and HR systems, freeform text fields were repurposed to fill system gaps and poorly documented, miskeyed or miscoded values abounded, and duplicate data existed across the system. Early progress was so significant that we were able to add an entirely separate campus (coming from a totally different legacy system having its own unique challenges) to the project scope. Over the course of the project we identified and corrected issues in their legacy data, loaded data to the new system (PeopleSoft) and performed a full reconciliation for HR, Payroll, and Benefits.
