Dennis Gilbert is President and founder of The Gilbert Group, a preeminent resource for serving high-net worth individuals and families across sports, entertainment and business. Dennis began his career as a minor league baseball player, after which he pursued a career in life insurance and taught continuing education estate planning to members of the CPA Society in the State of California. These CPAs, who were primarily entertainment business managers, gave Dennis entry into the Hollywood community through which he acquired an A-list, entertainment industry clientele.Dennis excelled at developing life insurance policies and creating wealth protection, and he knew these skills could help professionals and their families achieve better financial success. As his insurance business continued to thrive, he took on an additional career as a sports agent. Dennis broke contract records and had a big influence in transforming the salary structure of professional baseball forever.As baseball's leading agent, Dennis set new standards for creating player contracts. He personally negotiated over 1,000 contracts, broke salary barriers and achieved unprecedented contractual success for players such as Jose Canseco, Bobby Bonilla, Barry Bonds, George Brett, Ricky Henderson,and Mike PiazzaIn 2000, Dennis returned his focus full-time to life insurance and estate planning strategies. Today he leads The Gilbert Group and continues to teach educational workshops to high-end financial, legal and accounting organizations.

The Professional Baseball Scouts Foundation (PBSF) was founded in 2003 by Chicago White Sox executive Dennis Gilbert, Arizona Diamondbacks executive Roland Hemond and MLB scouts Dave Yoakum (Chicago White Sox) and Harry Minor (New York Mets). Despite the fact that scouts are primarily the ones to find the athletes that teams sign to lucrative deals, the average baseball scout’s income is modest. Consequently, when setbacks occur, scouts are extremely susceptible to financial hardships. The PBSF was established to help baseball scouts who have fallen on hard time due to job loss, illness, retirement or other setbacks. Our mission is to create a financial bridge by providing emergency recourse through the awarding of grants to scouts or their immediate family. We have been fortunate enough to assist with such items as house and car payments, medical services including insurance and daily living expenses up to and including funeral costs. The Professional Baseball Scouts Foundation is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) corporation that relies solely on donations, contributions, and the success of our Annual Awards Dinner/ Auction Event. We are governed by a volunteer Chairman and Board of Directors and have only one paid employee, the Executive Director. This gives us the ability to operate with very low overhead and the capability to handle more cases.
