Responsible for managing numerous real estate assets directly owned by the company that were valued at approximately $250 million. Reported to the President and directly supervised an Asset Manager, Leasing Agent, Executive Assistant and Property Manager who had reporting to her an assistant property manager, chief building engineer, two assistant engineers and a secretary. Served on Board of Directors. Examples of properties in the portfolio include a class AA 415,000 square foot 19 story office building in Dallas, Texas; several free-standing retail locations including a 150,000 square foot grocery anchored shopping center located in the Chicago area; small office buildings ranging in size from 32,000 square foot to 120,000 square foot; 400 acres of commercial land and 500 acres of farm/ranch land.- Acquisition and disposition of income producing assets and land.- Asset management for operating properties, both office and retail.- Planning, development, construction and lease-up of new properties, both office and retail, and build-to-suit opportunities with partners to monetize the land portfolio.- Negotiating terms of all transactions, including joint venture and development agreements with development partners, lease agreements (office and retail) and contracts.- Managed from inception the planning, development and lease up of class AA Rosewood Court, a prestige 415,000 square foot high-rise office building with retail in the popular and trendy Uptown area of Dallas, Texas.- Led land sale negotiations for 1.6 million square foot Grapevine Mills Mall development on choice 100 acre property in Grapevine, Texas.- Managed close-out of the development of Mansion Residences, a luxury high-rise condominium development located on Turtle Creek in Dallas. - Led numerous successful presentations to municipalities for site approval and rezoning of properties.

Assumed increasingly broader legal responsibilities over the years providing in-house counsel for real estate transactions to eventually become involved in virtually all transactions. Elected Vice President in 1989 as the position evolved during later years into assuming more transactional and asset management leadership, which ultimately resulted in promotion to the SVP position described above. - Drafting acquisition and disposition agreements for both income producing and land assets.- Negotiating and drafting commercial leases, both retail and office. - Reviewing and drafting of all contracts for development management and marketing of different product types.- Serving as a key contributor to improving asset value of The Crescent, a mixed-use project located in the Uptown area of Dallas, as a member of the team that restructured the tenant mix of that asset in order to increase its value.- Negotiating work-outs with several lenders on behalf of the owner related to foreclosures, including grocery anchored shopping centers, a 350,000 square foot office building and land.- Supervising outside counsel for all litigation, which was predominately as the plaintiff in contract disputes.

After graduation from law school, joined this law firm specializing in business law, commercial litigation and real estate transactions. Responsible both for assisting with preparation of litigation for trials and for pre-planning/reviewing business and real estate transaction documents. Enjoyed real estate law and when Rosewood sought an Associate General Counsel through the Dallas Bar’s Headnotes publication, pursued and was hired into that position as described above.

Upon graduation from high school and after attending Texas Tech University for one year, was drafted and served two years as a Specialist 4 in the U.S. Army until being honorably discharged in 1974.
