Identify technologies, architectures and design patterns required to implement a Digital Service Provider (DSP) business model to enable and drive the convergence of the Telecom, Media and IT industries. • Network virtualization – Led requirements definition project with results accepted by four strategic vendors for 5G networks hosted on cloud platforms utilizing SDN and NFV technologies, including support for Mobile Edge Computing (MEC), microservices, and service orchestration frameworks and platforms.• API management - Led requirements definition for API monetization, virtualization, life cycle management and runtime gateway services, including vendor evaluation and platform selection based on a quantitative scoring model developed with 100+ scoring criteria.• IoT strategy, architecture and requirements - I was recruited to define IoT requirements, strategies, and architectures based on new business models and technology stacks. The business model was focused on providing enhanced information management and analytical services at the edge and core of the network. Technology elements were focused on APIs, microservices, new protocols, and event-driven software development models.• 5G-based digital transformation - Contributed to Verizon’s 5G, SDN, NFV, MEC, IoT and Cloud strategy and architecture, including serving as the technical editor for a published document designed to establish industry thought leadership for virtualized, software-defined, 5G networks.• Industry initiatives - Wrote the initial position papers on OCP and OpenConfig participation, addressing issues such as declarative configuration and model-driven management. Liaised with open source organizations and other Telecom operators on various initiatives, including innovation lab projects, orchestration frameworks and OPEN-O.
