Chrysler Warren Truck Assembly Plant Complex (3 Sites) (5 Million Sq. Ft. Total)
• Scope of support included: Microsoft Server 2003 with Active Directory (AD) Network migration from Novell 5 IntranetWare/NDS with Novell 4.81 network client - includes User Account (2,000) Administration, creation, permissions, and support, PC Management (1,500), Server Shares administration, creation, and permissions, and AD Site Modification scripts, across a 3 site/OU Complex; Migration to client Windows XP Professional w/AD from Windows 2000 Professional, Windows 95, and Windows NT Workstations; 250 Network printers; Supporting LDAP, CICS, and TSO Mainframe systems with 700+ terminals in a production environment; Lotus Notes client setup and repairs/diagnostics, and migrations from 4.11 to 4.6 to R5 to 6.0 to 6.5. • Created custom scripts and tools, methods and procedures, menus, and interactive documents to combine disparate technology resources for proactive Network Administration, System Diagnostics, PC Inventory, and user support/troubleshooting solutions - - of particular merit: • Implemented an advanced PC Inventory SQL DB and Web Server, from inception through proof-of-concept, to deployment across 7 Plant facilities - providing real-time/dynamic inventory of 4,000+ PC's, all installed software, hardware identification and configuration, current logged user identification reflecting the shift/usage rotations of 4,500+ users, and PC location across 7 Plant facilities. Administrative browser interface (web PHP) for ‘quick-queries’ and searches, spreadsheet importing, and advanced SQL queries and reporting capability enables effective support, diagnostics, software identification, location, and targeting for hardware and software upgrades. No such system was previously available for local Plant administration and support. • This PC Inventory DB was under formal review by Chrysler ITM as a recommended Plant Best Practices application, available to 26 Plants across the North American domain.
