Digital photography and portraiture has been an off shoot of my training in the visual arts. My background is as a classically trained Artist. Not so much as my means of employment as an "Artist", but more as a way of conducting my professional career in related fields. I am a visual person with a passion to create. No medium is off-limits as far as I am concerned. My 5 years at the University of Oklahoma gave me a broad base off of which to build. I declared my major as General Fine Arts with a Fine Arts Emphasis, which simply means that no area of the Fine Arts Dept. was out of my realm of study. My studies ventured out of the Painting Studio and into Lighting Design, Set Design, Music, Art History, Sculpture, Screen Printing, Film Photography, Graphic Design, Interior Design, Film Studies, .......... Like I said if it was in the Fine Arts Dept., it became part of my curriculum. Some have tried to classify my approach at college as an inability to find a specific discipline in which to work. But I feel that if I had limited myself, I would not be true "Artist". My hope is that I will be able to use all of my training and all of my talent for whatever comes my way. Dennis Morren Photography has been my latest outlet for my creativity.
