April 2015 - October 2019: Working for a major wind turbine manufacture developing new technology for next generation offshore turbine .Previous : I have worked on various projects designing and strength verifying; cranes, platforms, transport and handling equipment etc. The calculations are typically done by FE Models (ANSYS) and analytically (MathCad). The design normally includes: - Design concepts- EHS- DFMEA- Cost- Documentation- CE-marking

The demand for longer monopiles with greater load baring capacities initiates investigations for possible design optimizations. The buckling capacity is one of the primary design factors of the monopile technique. In search of an increase in buckling capacity, DONG Energy seeks to investigate the correlation of ring stiffeners and buckling capacities in monopile designs.Finite Element Analysis (FEA) is used along with supporting closed form solutionsto investigate the stability phenomena. FE-model analyses establish the increment on the buckling capacity under variousload conditions for different stiffener configurations in order to determine when ringstiffeners are suitable to optimize the monopile design. The investigation includesboth an analytical model taking ring stiffeners into account and numerical modelsaccounting for geometric nonlinearities.

As mechanical engineer I worked with product development primarily within the offshore, oil & gas and renewable energy sectors. The work ranged from the creative technical brainstorming, over development and manufacturing to FAT. The development tasks included a large amount of documentation, frequently according to DNV, ASME or API standards.A great amount of the products are specialized to underwater applications and typically designed for water depths of up to 6000 meters. The high water pressure and aggressive corrosion environment requires innovative solutions. Some product of the range I have been working with:- Pressure vessels for ground tests of products- Design of sealing products for bottles, cables and connectors to e.g. BOP systems used in the offshore drilling industry.- Underwater junction boxes- Design of winch systems and A-frames for Launch And Recovery Systems

Development of winches with focus on structural design/construction during the design process including FEM-based analysis programs. Development of standard calculation programs for stress verification of standard products with minor variations in size and geometry.
