Dennison Baldwin Smith isthe owner and creative director of The Baldwin Gallery and Curatorial Group (London, England), bringing contemporary indigenous North American artists into dialogue with prominent European artists, and offering performance salons and lectures to expand the appreciation and understanding of contemporary art and culturethe author of two novels – The Eye of the Day (Harper Collins Canada, & Periscope Books), and Scavenger (Insomniac Press, Toronto) – and two collections of poetry – Fermata (Quattro Press, Toronto) and Anon Necessity (Miraclelyrical) – who is presently finishing her third novel, The Westward Hourspublic speaker, academic and teacher of creative writing, holding a PhD in Creative and Critical Writing, with full merit scholarship and an MA with distinction from the University of East Anglia, a Bachelors of Science in Performance Studies with highest honours from Northwestern University (Evanston, Illinois).the recipient of a Canada Arts Council Grant for Professional Writers, an Ontario Arts Council Works-in-Progress Grant, a UEA full merit studentship, a UEA EnterpriseCentral and Santander grant, the Francis Lerner Award for Excellence in Performance Literature, the Agnes Nixon Award for playwriting and the Stand Literary Short Story Awardan ecological, interdisciplinary performance artist, presently commencing work on The Three Waters Project&a Chicago and Vermont child, who emigrated first to England, then to Canada, then back to England and who now lives in London and summers on a small beloved island in British Columbiawebsites: www.dennisonsmith.ca & www.thebaldwingallery.com
