I worked for 22nd Century Technologies Inc. as a contract employee for a specific project for Agilent Technologies. Dako - Agilent Technologies a Bio-Reagent company in a very highly regulated business by FDA. In preparation for an upcoming FDA, audit reviewed all documentation for current open purchase orders, prior closed purchase orders with regard to sourcing compliance of supplier documentation requirements, quality assurance requirements with respect to ISO regulations combined with compliance requirements. As an agent of procurement team, assisted in obtaining critical documentation required from approved established suppliers. Assisted in processing and tracking documentation.

Managed and directed the department activities of Procurement, Cost Estimating, General Stores, Information Technology and Systems Analyst, Traffic/Transportation/Motor Pool, and Shipping / Receiving through product shipment to the customer. Successful implementation team member of Western Data System ERP system replacing old mainframe MRP2 ERP system. Established key metrics to monitor and improved the Materials Management processes. Developed a metric for negotiated cost savings. I set goals to 10% and demonstrated a cost savings of 14.2%. Formed a Supplier Development program to allow procurement from certified sources on production material. Administered cycle counting process to achieve 98.5% inventory accuracy. This procurement activity was accomplished on schedule, within budget, and with a limited staff.

Staffed and directed over 20 employees managing production control, material control, and stockroom, shipping, receiving, and mailroom operations. Implemented various control systems; trained and developed planners-expeditors on the proper use of ADP/Manual tools available, in addition to MRP. Established material and labor standards, utilizing that data to provide job costing for all products. Reviewed and approved order release, planning, and scheduling. Introduced critical path layouts, loads vs. capacity reporting, material control analysis, detailed master production scheduling into varied environments. Responsible for weekly and monthly reporting of in-depth analysis of schedule/resource conflicts. Developed solutions to complex material and schedule issues with production planners, operations, purchasing and engineering. During this time the company’s sales increased annually from $3.4 million to $8.9 million. Reduced inventories 28% and improved the MPS customer deliveries to 97% on time/month.
