I am interested in how computational approaches can accelerate discovery, invention, and creativity. I have a bachelors degree in Computer Science from Harvard College and a Ph.D. in Bioinformatics from the University of Washington Medical School. My doctoral advisor was Dr. Valerie Daggett in the UW department of Bioengineering. At UW, I designed computational methods to accelerate the discovery and selection of small molecule p53-rescuing anti-cancer drugs. At Tableau Research, I focus on developing novel interactive analytics tools that help people understand their data faster and more easily. I hold peer-reviewed papers and technology patents in computational biology, molecular and structural biology, visual analytics, cryptography, digital rights management, and human-computer interaction.
