After taking a year off to grieve and rebuild after the loss of Carole, my wife of 35 years, I joined an expansion sales effort of cultivating and driving the specifications of architectural projects toward the AtlasIED product offering. This undertaking, and the positions created to implement it, were abandoned by management two years into it.

The Sextant Group is specialized in audiovisual and information technologies, building security, architectural acoustics, noise & vibration control, technical lighting, faculty support and development, and intelligent building systems.• I was a client focused operational level contact, managing several projects simultaneously while ensuring that efficient, accurate, and top quality work was being delivered to the clients. • My responsibilities were project coordination, planning, programming, budgeting, and coordinating the requirements, drawings, and specifications with the project design team. • My clients included Amgen, California Institute of Technology (CalTech), Kaiser Permanente, Metropolitan Water District of Southern California, Orange County Board of Supervisors, University of Irvine.

Brought back to Harman to re-establish relationships with key consultants in the US and to perform business development activities with newly established Hospitality vertical market group. The audio focussed consultant liaison position was abandoned soon after my rehire by continued company reorganization.

I was hired to re-open their Los Angeles office and to market to architects doing local projects with budgets that require a local presence. Jaffe Holden's headquarters is in Norwalk, Connecticut and there is a second office in Houston, Texas.

Aviom is a innovative manufacturer of professional digital audio products. I managed 8 rep territories in the Western U.S. with the company known for changing the face of live musical performance monitor mixing with its Pro16 Personal Monitor Mixing System. I managed and maintained training for Aviom's key accounts in the west including Full Compass, Sound Productions, and CCI Solutions. I also was passionately involved with the product development team that produced the Pro64 AllFrame digital snake system.

BSS is a respected Harman Pro brand of powerful open-architecture audio DSP processing tools. During my 7 years there I continually trained and managed 8 independent manufacturer rep firms in the Western U.S. I worked effectively to increase sales by the stated Harman Pro goal of doubling business every 5 years. At the time of my departure from Harman I was at 130% of my sales quota for BSS in the West.

I had the pleasure of being brought in to develop sales and marketing for a young manufacturer of advanced audio DSP yielding a 145% sales increase from Q1 1998 through Q1 2001. I also established global pricing structures and sales policies resulting in profitability every completed fiscal year during my time there. As a part of this endeavor and with the help of the CEO, John McMahon, I set up and managed sales distribution in Canada, Europe, Asia and Australia, and I hired and managed rep firms in select markets in the United States. LCS products were going into cutting-edge productions such as Disney theme parks, Broadway shows, and all of the Cirque du Soleil shows in Las Vegas.I also met the challenge of designing and overseeing the installation of ground-breaking technology in the first two Variable Room Acoustics System™ (VRAS) installs in Los Angeles and Prague in the Czech Republic. Final system commissioning in Los Angeles was done by a team led by myself, and in Prague a team led by John McMahon, since by then I was with Harman/BSS. VRAS is now branded as Constellation at Meyer Sound.

Aphex is a professional sound products manufacturer focused on the broadcast, recording, sound reinforcement and commercial installation markets. I started at Aphex as a Product Specialist and quickly was moved into Product Management as I designed hardware user interfaces and managed development of successful audio processing products still sold today. I fielded customers’ technical support inquiries and provided design support to consultants. Besides product design I also had the creative fulfillment of producing literature, owner’s manuals, a comprehensive product training CD, advertising, promotions and tradeshow booth designs.

My lovely wife Carole and I launched and operated a successful regional concert rental production company that included shows with Frank Sinatra, Barbra Streisand, Michael McDonald, Natalie Cole, Kenny Rogers, Lionel Richie, Larry Carlton, Bob Hope, Weather Report, Sheryl Crow, David Benoit, David Foster and many others! In addition, as professional audio/video contractors focused on commercial, institutional, and cultural design/build projects, we earned a reputation as being meticulous and careful on top of our technical chops. This initiated an entry into the custom/luxury residential market with projects that rivaled and sometimes surpassed our high-end commercial work.
