Looking back, there was always one motivating force at the core of my chosen path – my passion for the written word. In the course of evolving professionally, a need to channel this into something meaningful grew, which inevitably circled back to journalism. Along the way I’ve been lucky enough to work on some great magazines, and also dabble in more creatively challenging roles, but as I’ve matured, I’ve grown to realise that sometimes you just need to buckle down and grind before you can reap any rewards. I’ve learnt important lessons every step of the way. As such, I’ve gone from magazine journalism, to technical writing and back to print again, progressing to feature writing, editing and everything in between, before migrating to digital. I have endeavoured to upskill myself along the way, including acquiring digital copywriting skills, which proved indispensable during a stint as a copywriter for one of Africa’s leading digital marketing agencies. On a personal level, I’m a dynamic, driven individual, who thrives under pressure. I relish any challenge that stretches my limits, and helps me grow both personally and professionally.
