As a Business Engineering Master's student specializing in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics and AI, I bring a robust blend of technical and business skills to every project. My passion lies in leveraging data to drive strategic decision-making, and my academic journey has equipped me with hands-on expertise in data visualization (R, Gurobi & Rapidminer), machine learning (Python, Sci-kit & Tensorflow), optimization through linear programming (Lingo), and advanced statistical analysis (R).My master’s thesis, a significant capstone of my analytics training, involved developing a Python-based scheduling program that optimized TV advertisement placement across slots. This project allowed me to apply complex constraints to maximize revenue and minimize ad similarity, demonstrating my ability to balance business objectives with technical precision. To enhance the project’s real-world relevance, we successfully convinced a major belgian broadcaster, VRT, to collaborate and provide a practical dataset. We also engaged with other key stakeholders, including ad slot sales professionals, to gain further industry insights and ensure our solution met the needs of those who drive ad sales in the media landscape.During my internship at AE Leuven, I applied these skills in a dynamic, agile environment where I designed user-centric web applications in Figma. Working closely with end users, HR administrators, and consultants, I honed my UX/UI skills, crafting intuitive, user-friendly interfaces tailored to diverse needs. This role further developed my agile and lean skillset, emphasizing iterative feedback loops and continuous improvement. By collaborating with cross-functional teams across AE and Acerta, I learned to bridge communication between business and IT stakeholders, ensuring that our solutions were both technically sound and impactful for end-users in the HR domain.My international experience, including exchange programs at 1) Aston University in the UK and 2) Chalmers University in Sweden, has broadened my perspective on applying business and technical skills in global contexts. At Gothenburg, I attended the Gothenburg Startup Conference 2024, which provided valuable insights into the startup ecosystem and AI-driven innovations, specifically in Sweden. Engaging with students, professors, and professionals from diverse backgrounds in both exchange programs has deepened my cultural understanding and equipped me with a global perspective, enriching my social approach to collaborative and client-oriented projects.
