My engineering career began at Sasol Synfuels, where I specialized in Process Control and Modelling, progressing to manage teams in the design and deployment of energy optimization solutions. My passion for plant and energy optimization and high-performance teamwork drives my work across energy sectors.In 2015, I joined PETRONAS' accelerated capability program at ENGEN to develop specialized skills in distillation processes. This led to my recognition as a Staff Technical Professional in 2017, the same year I completed my MSc in Power and Energy Systems at UKZN.Currently, I own and operate a professional services company, consulting across the public and private sectors in renewable energy, gas, power generation, hydrogen, and sustainability services. My consulting work focuses on optimizing energy use, implementing alternative energy solutions, and advancing sustainability initiatives.As an advocate for Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) in South Africa, I actively promote EPC compliance within the built environment. My role involves advising building owners, accounting officers, and school bodies on preparing for EPC assessments, gathering quotes, and engaging SANEDI-approved professionals. EPCs are vital for driving energy efficiency, reducing carbon footprints, and meeting national sustainability targets, especially for schools and buildings under the A3 occupancy class.With my technical background and consulting experience, I believe EPCs play a crucial role in transforming South Africa’s energy landscape, contributing to long-term sustainability in the built environment.
