I love optimization. Research and study have taught me that while the physical world is not perfect, it is at least generally bound by efficiency. To optimize my life, I adhere to the creed that anything worth learning is something I will only settle for mastering. Curiosity in my teenage years led me to study astronomy and physics during college. I found the field to be both challenging and engaging, allowing me to develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills to tackle complex problems.I found my first golden ticket in life doing research with West Mountain Observatory where I could hone skills acquired during classes and refine data collection and analysis skills. I got to be a scientist, mechanical engineer, software engineer, and supervisor, learning skills important to each role while trying my hand to see which fit me best.Studying and working in astronomy and physics provided an amazing opportunity to learn and work toward mastery in a litany of subjects but also led me to develop an unexpected interest in data science and machine learning. Tinkering with data pools and using machine learning techniques to accelerate and optimize analysis has become a passion. My pursuit of both has been built off principles learned in school but self-guided using SQL and Python.Whether it’s to chat about breakthroughs in astronomy, the latest exciting data-driven projects, or maybe even an A-1 Pictures series, let’s connect.
